Fusion Math, LLC was founded in 2011 by MIT Grad Mark P. Batho, M.Eng '99 following over 20 years of teaching and tutoring. Mark received his Master of Civil Engineering from MIT in 1999 and worked as Civil Engineer for several years, before returning full time to his passion for teaching. He taught at The University of Washington from 2004 – 2010 in Civil Engineering and taught the UW School of Engineering Summer Math Academy for four summers, two of which were with Dave Prince retired director of the UW Engineering Study Center. Mark is an avid skier, having raced Europa Cup Downhill in Europe after graduating from High School. Mark is also an All American Collegiate Ski Racer, placing 18th in Nationals in slalom in 1989. He was also a forerunner in the 1986 World Cup Downhill at Whistler, BC as a Senior in High School.
He ski races locally in the City League Ski Racing Program, sponsoring the "Fusion Math Uber Team" of which he is captain. In the 2012/2013 league Fusion Math placed 2nd on Wednesday nights to World Cup Ski Service. In the 2013/2014 league Fusion Math place 1st over World Cup Ski Service by a single point.
Mark lives in the Bryant area with his wife and two young children, Aaron and Laurel.
